AN-018Problem Solving

How do I introduce myself without losing viewers?

Don't introduce — demonstrate. Start mid-value, let a lower third carry your credentials, and earn the bio after the hook.

The Diagnosis

The intro is where new viewers leave, because 'hi, I'm X and on this channel we…' is a stretch of known, low-value seconds — a free exit ramp during the exact window commitment forms. The fix isn't a faster bio; it's replacing introduction with demonstration. Start mid-value: the video already doing the thing you do is a better credential than any sentence about yourself. Let a lower third silently answer 'who is this and why should I listen' while you're busy being worth listening to — name and title on screen costs zero seconds of speech. If context is genuinely required, deliver it in motion, as part of an already-rolling story, never as a standalone preamble. The rule of thumb: viewers should know what you do before they're told who you are, and by then most won't need telling.
