Why do my Shorts get views but my long videos don't?
They're different games at different doors — shorts ride a cold feed with no click required; long-form has to win a click first.
The Diagnosis
This gap feels like the platform playing favorites, but it's two different physics. A short gets pushed into a feed — no click required, judged purely on whether it stops and holds a cold scroll. Long-form has to win a click first: it lives or dies on packaging at doors (home, suggested, search) where viewers compare options side by side. So strong shorts + weak long-form usually means your in-video craft is good and your packaging game hasn't been tested until now — the thumbnail-title system simply never had to carry weight before. Two more honest factors: feed audiences are colder and largely don't convert across formats, so don't expect shorts viewers to migrate; and each surface has its own visual dialect, so a short's pacing pasted into long-form reads frantic. Different doors, different game — play both on purpose.
