Why does my audio feel off even though it's clear?

If your audio is clean but something still feels off, the problem is almost always dynamics or edit points, not quality. Dynamics first: if everything sits at one loudness — voice, music, effects all pinned — nothing can land, because impact is relative. A moment only hits hard if it follows quiet, so engineer valleys on purpose: duck the music under speech, let genuine silence exist before your emphasis, and save full loudness for the beats that earn it. Then edit points: cutting audio and video at the same instant, every time, gives the viewer's ear a hard reset at every join — that's the subtle 'off' feeling. Split them. Let the outgoing voice trail over the next shot, or let incoming sound arrive before its picture. Clean audio is the entry fee; shaped audio is what reads as professional.
